These decoupaged milk jugs are great for transporting toys, dumping them on the ground, and scooping them up again when playtime is done. Make a waterproof version by cutting drainage holes in the bottom and decorating the jug with permanent markers; it's perfect for skimming toys from the bathtub.
Materials
  • Craft knife (parents only) or scissors
  • Gallon jug
  • Colored tissue paper
  • 2 1/2-inch-wide can
  • Pencil
  • Glue stick
  • Paintbrush
  • Mod Podge
Instructions
  1. Cut the gallon jug as shown, leaving the handle section intact.
  2. To create multiple tissue-paper circles quickly, stack and fold the paper into several layers. Use the can to trace a circle onto the paper, then cut out the stack of circles.
  3. Adhere the tissue-paper circles to the jug with a glue stick.
  4. Brush Mod Podge on top of the circles to seal them.

A classic chain-folding technique lets you reuse and recycle with real style -- by turning a colorful bag into bangles.
      Materials
      • Large chip bag
      • Ruler
      • Pen
      • Scissors
      Instructions
      1. Snack Bag Chain Bracelet - Step 1 Rinse and dry a large chip bag, then measure and cut it into 1 1/2- by 4-inch strips (we used 22 for each bracelet). To make each link, crease a strip in half vertically and horizontally (A). Fold the long sides in to meet at the vertical crease, then fold the strip in half along the vertical crease (B). Fold the ends of the strip in to meet at the horizontal crease, then fold the strip in half at the horizontal crease (C). As you make the links, store them in an envelope to keep them from unfolding.
      2. Snack Bag Chain Bracelet - Step 2 Set one link aside. Connect the rest by slipping the ends of one through the slots formed by the folds of the next.
      3. Snack Bag Chain Bracelet - Step 3 To turn your chain into a bracelet, unfold the slots of the spare link and thread it through the slots of the chain's end links to connect them.
      4. Snack Bag Chain Bracelet - Step 4 Secure the connector's loose ends by folding each of them back over one slot and into the other.
