Monday -Konnichiwa!

 Purpose: Class introductions.  Let's get to know everyone!  All over the world people are meeting each other for the first time, making new friends, and doing new activities at summer camp!  Demonstrate how people in Japan say "hello"

Activity: 1) Teacher leads the class in learning a few new phrases.  Handout provided. 2) Book reading optional 3) Water coloring of paper fans.

Materials:  1) language handout 2) japanese children's book 3) paper fan 4) watercolor paint 5) brushes 6) smocks.
